As the daughter of an international construction manager, I grew up in the Congo, Iran, Australia and other countries. With an academic background in both African and Latin American Studies, I welcome diverse people into my life.
Heaven for me is the outdoors. I’m a native plant enthusiast and, as a Texas Master Naturalist, I volunteer with the City of Austin counting endangered golden-cheeked warblers when they arrive in Central Texas from Central America each spring. I also lead hikes on the Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge, enabling the public to enjoy the beauty of the Edwards Plateau. I hope my contributions make the world a better place.
I have a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin.
